Who we are
The Eleanor Bryant Memorial Fund is an initiative established to honour the life and tremendous contribution of Eleanor Jane Bryant. Eleanor was a young mother, wife, speech therapist and much-loved family member, friend and community contributor whose life was tragically cut short in November 2024.
Eleanor was a born and bred country girl who loved the land and the rural way of life – particularly its people. She was raised in the North-West NSW community of Coonamble, and by the time of her death had made a life and career in the bustling village of Riddells Creek, Victoria with her husband, Tim, and their two children, Charlie and Tully.
Eleanor was the type of person who always gave of herself for others and lived her life everyday putting others first. She dedicated her career to education and working with children through her profession of speech pathology.
Eleanor was killed in a freak accident, struck by a truck on the school grounds where she was working. Her final moments typified her extraordinarily selfless nature, as she bravely and courageously moved a young child from the path of the oncoming truck, saving the child’s life.
Under the leadership of her husband Tim, Eleanor’s family and close friends have established The Eleanor Bryant Memorial Fund to provide perpetual memorial scholarships for rural students studying or training in the allied health and early childhood fields which were so close to Eleanor’s heart.
